Worship Through Song: "Lord, I Need You"

Wednesday's are special as I get to share songs/lyrics that reveal a heart of worship.  For today's Worship Through Song post, I am presenting a song that we have been singing a lot in church lately.  I think it is truly awesome.  Sing loud!

"Lord, I Need You"
As performed by Matt Maher

Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus, You're my hope and stay

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

You're my one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

  1. Thanks sonny. I sat and slowly read these words. It seems like lately we are dealing with one thing after another and your posts help me to take a few minutes to relax, gather my thoughts and pray.

  2. Thank you for the kind words, Kim. I'm glad you find the posts helpful. There are just certain lyrics that move me closer to God regardless of my circumstances and this is one such song.
